The commute was slightly hampered in Blue Hill this morning when a car struck a utility pole on Route 15 shortly after 5 a.m. resulting in extensive power outages. The pole snapped in half forcing the closure of a section of the travel way from the Tamworth Farm Road to the Mountain Road for approximately four hours as crews from Bangor Hydro and FairPoint Communications worked to replace it. The driver, who as of press time had not been identified, refused assistance from Peninsula Ambulance Corps and called for a ride from the scene.
